When ServiceFixes charges, and what you approve first
You only pay the diagnostic fee up front (when one applies). All work above the diagnostic requires you to review and approve a written quote before we proceed.
Will I be charged before I approve the work?
The diagnostic step
For most repairs, the technician needs to come out, inspect the issue, and confirm the root cause before anyone can quote the actual fix. That visit is the diagnostic, and it has a flat fee depending on the service category.
Emergency calls have a separate after-hours fee that's disclosed before you confirm the request.
The written quote
Once the diagnostic is done, you receive a written quote on your secure request page with itemized labor, parts, and any markups.
Nothing above the diagnostic fee is started until you tap Approve. For larger jobs we ask you to confirm with a one-time code (MFA) so the approval is tied to you specifically.
After approval
You can pay the deposit (if any), the final invoice, or the full amount via a Stripe-hosted payment link — receipts are added to the request automatically.
